Lecture on “Multiple Comparisons in Generalised Randomised Complete Block Designs with Covariate-based Post-stratification”

Chandigarh November 22, 2024:  As part of the Panjab University (PU) Global Science Week, Ohio State University, USA Prof. Omer Ozturk delivered the lecture on “Multiple Comparisons in Generalised Randomised Complete Block Designs with Covariate-based Post-stratification”at the Department of Statistics in PU.

Prof. Ozturk is a renowned expert with research interest in developing inference under a set of relaxed distributional assumptions that may include parametric, nonparametric and robust inference under different sampling conditions at the Department of Statistics, Ohio State University, USA.

The objective of the event is to provide the students, researchers and faculty with exposure to latest advancements in science and technology, offering them a platform to interact with leading experts. The session saw an enthusiastic response, with faculty members, researchers, and students actively participating in the interactive discussion. The online format ensured wide reach and accessibility, reflecting PU's commitment to fostering global academic collaborations and advancing knowledge. The lecture was well received by all the participants.

In his engaging talk, Prof. Ozturk discussed in detail about Judgment Post Stratification, Impact of Post Stratification, Rao-Blackwellized Estimators and Bootstrap Variance Estimates. He also discussed the use of Judgment Post Stratification (JPS) in Tukey’s Multiple Comparison Procedure within a generalised balanced randomized complete block design based on post stratified data. He also discussed about the development of multiple comparison procedure for all pairwise contrast parameters, with applications in agricultural studies.

Earlier, Prof. Narinder Kumar, Chairperson of the Department welcomed the participants and introduced the speaker Prof. Omer Ozturk. In the end, Dr. Anju Goyal proposed the vote of thanks on behalf of the department.
