The Department of Philosophy at Panjab University hosted a lecture on the topic “A Denial and A Refusal: Mind-Spirit Dichotomy in The Life Divine” on Thursday. The lecture was delivered by Prof Sachidananda Mohanty, who holds Sri Aurobindo Chair at the University, as part of a series of lectures organised by the institution.
Chandigarh, February 22, 2024: The Department of Philosophy at Panjab University hosted a lecture on the topic “A Denial and A Refusal: Mind-Spirit Dichotomy in The Life Divine” on Thursday. The lecture was delivered by Prof Sachidananda Mohanty, who holds Sri Aurobindo Chair at the University, as part of a series of lectures organised by the institution.
The event attracted a diverse and large audience of faculty and students from various departments. The lecture was moderated by research scholar Kanwaljeet Singh, and Assistant Professor, Sh. Lallan Singh Baghel presented a bouquet to Prof Mohanty as a token of welcome.
Prof Mohanty’s lecture, which lasted approximately an hour, explored the nuances of the mind-spirit dichotomy, challenging our perceptions of these fundamental aspects of human consciousness. This was followed by an engaging question-and-answer session, with enthusiastic participation from faculty members, research scholars, and students.
The lecture concluded with a moment of silence initiated by Prof Mohanty, inviting attendees to reflect on the profound insights shared during the lecture.
