Lecture on ‘War on Drugs’ by Joint Commissioner of Police

Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Police Administration organized an informative lecture titled ‘War on Drugs’ in which Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Joint Commissioner of Police (City), Jalandhar participated as the chief speaker.

Jalandhar, March 28, 2025: Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar in collaboration with Police Administration organized an informative lecture titled ‘War on Drugs’ in which Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Joint Commissioner of Police (City), Jalandhar participated as the chief speaker. He was welcomed by Principal Dr. Suman Chopra with a bouquet of flowers. In her welcome speech for the chief speaker in this awareness campaign against drugs, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the police department and termed their campaign as beneficial for building a healthy society. She appreciated the continuous efforts of the young students of the college in organizing events on social issues. She further said that it is very important that we unite in this effort to keep our future generations safe.  

In his address, Sandeep Kumar Sharma highlighted the growing trend of drugs in Punjab and its harmful effects on the society. He stressed on the important role of educational institutions and young students in creating awareness and creating a drug-free environment. He said that drug abuse is a major threat to the health and well-being of our society. Through the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign, the government aims to empower the society with the necessary knowledge and resources to combat this issue and the police administration is making all its efforts in this regard. It is very important that we unite in this effort to keep our future generations safe. The lecture concluded with an interactive session, with students and teachers interacting directly with Joint Commissioner Sharma. Strategies and measures to effectively curb drug abuse within the society were discussed. The stage was conducted by Dr. Upma Arora in a brilliant manner and at the end she thanked Joint Commissioner Sharma for his visit to the college and also thanked the faculty members of the college for supporting the anti-drug campaigns. Apart from a large number of students, Vice Principal Prof. Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, Dr. Rashpal Singh, Dr. Balraj Kaur, Dr. Harjit Singh, Dr. Raju Sharma, Dr. Jaswinder Kaur, Dr. Manmeet Sodhi, Dr. Sukhdev Singh, NCC Incharge Dr. Karanbir Singh, NSS Co-Incharge Dr. Surbjit Singh and many other teachers were also present in this event.
