Leisure valley to come up in Block I of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar: Bharat Bhushan Ashu
It would be fifth leisure valley in Ludhiana (West) Constituency
Ludhiana: To provide clean and green environment, place for exercise and spending leisure time for city residents and fulfilling the long pending demand of the area residents, a leisure valley would come up in two-acre area in block I of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar area of the city. He informed that the land for both these projects would be provided by the Ludhiana Improvement Trust.
This would be the fifth new leisure valley coming up in Ludhiana (West) constituency represented by Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
Besides, a well maintained park would come up in Block L of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, here. Accompanied by Ludhiana Improvement Trust Chairman Mr Raman Balasubramaniam, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today visited both the sites and issued necessary instructions to the staff.
Mr Ashu informed that both these projects were long pending demands of the area residents and the sites where they would be developed were visited today. He said that tenders for both these projects would be floated shortly as all approvals have been granted by the Local Bodies department.
He said that the leisure valley in Block I of Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar would have a dedicated footpath for morning/evening walkers, badminton and basketball courts, an open gym, swings for children, canopies, besides several such amenities.
The other four leisure valleys are coming up near DAV Public School (along Sidhwan Canal) in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, in Haibowal, near Lodhi Club and behind Blocks D & E in Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar. He said that these projects would prove as lifelines for the city and its residents.
He informed that near DAV Public School, the leisure valley is around 1.5 kilometres in length (starting from opposite DAV Public School till Railway Crossing near Pakhowal Road). He informed that near DAV Public School, the vacant chunk of land was literally being used as a garbage dump. He said that this space have been fully transformed into one of the best leisure valley’s of the city.
The Cabinet Minister said that the Capt Amarinder Singh led Punjab government is committed for providing best facilities to its residents and that is why several beautification projects are in the pipeline. He informed that the work on the first phase of Sidhwan Canal Water Front project is also near completion.
Senior Congress leader Mr Karanjit Singh Soni Galib, Mr Inderjit Singh Indi, Mr Sukhpreet Singh Aulakh, besides several others were also present on the occasion.
