Ludhiana, September 22, 2018: As a part of celebrations of 62nd anniversary of Life Insurance Corporation of India, on Saturday, Ludhiana Division organised a cultural programme of Rangla Punjab - Phir-se at Guru Nanak Bhawan.
LC Pipil, Senior Divisional Manager, LIC, Ludhiana Division, inaugurated the event during which patriotic songs, Punjabi folk dance gidda and bhangra were performed.
While lauding the contribution of LIC, he said LIC has played a significant role in spreading life insurance among the masses and mobilisation of people's money for people's welfare. He honoured more than 700 agents, Development Officers, CLIAs who have performed well and achieved their target.
Through this Rangla Punjab- Phir-se, he explained the features of LIC's Jeevan Shanti policy which has been launched recently. He said LIC of India has been a nation builder since its formation in 1956. True to the objective of nationalisation, the Corporation has always worked towards the benefits of the customers and the community at large.
He further said that with an initial capital of Rs.5 crore in 1956 today LIC has assets of over Rs.28 lakh crore with Life Fund more than 25 crore. During 2017-18, LIC's market share of new policies issued was more than 75.67 per cent and the market share on total first year premium was pegged at 69.40 per cent.
