Life Lessons for Leadership in Kiran Bedi Ki Pathshala
Panjab University Alumni Association hosted an interactive session with Dr. Kiran Bedi IPS (Retd.) Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Distinguished PU Alumna at evening studies auditorium on Monday.
Chandigarh, April 1, 2024: Panjab University Alumni Association hosted an interactive session with Dr. Kiran Bedi IPS (Retd.) Former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry and Distinguished PU Alumna at evening studies auditorium on Monday.
The session was attended by more than two hundred fifty participants including distinguished alumni, eminent professors ,faculty members, senators, chairpersons students and research scholars from different department and walks of life. Students joined from public administration, UILS, Political science, English, zoology, sociology, Police administration, Defence studies, Hindi, history etc. to listen to the inspiring personality who gave excellent tips to lead a self-discipline student life to be successful in life.
Prof. Latika Sharma Dean Alumni Relations welcomed Dr. Kiran Bedi with Prof. Pam Rajput and DSW Prof. Simrat Kahlon. Dr Bedi’s love for sports and eagerness to learn and be on the move made her student days activity packed in which she secured two scholarships for academics and sports . She told students not to give in to distractions of social media , do those great things which people would like to see for inspiration. She emphasised on optimum utilization of time in younger days to engage in sports and studies. She told the students to build self-respect, learn to work with hands, lead ethical life, focus on goals to attain success which comes through good habits. Student can gain confidence by doing their own SWOT analysis to keep improving their self awareness for building good habits. She encouraged students to develop reading habits and engage in sports and physical activities. She asked the students their expectations and prompted them to articulate their goals for behavioral transformation. It was a highly interactive session which evoked a sense of commitment for self-development among the students. The replies of the students were recorded on the spot and many students responded.
Dr. Bedi responded to all queries with high energy and enthusiasm making it a very enjoyable session for the students. This is beginning of a series of Alumni Connect interactive sessions to provide Alumni mentorship to students of PU.
