Ferozepur, February 9, 2014: A declamation contest was organised by Lions Club, Ferozepur on Sunday. A total 25 students from 11 different schools and colleges of Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot and Moga participated in various topics such as changing scenario in politics, reality shows and children and live-in relationship.
Speaking on the occasion, MJF Ashwani Sharma said, “Lions Club, Ferozepur is one of the premier voluntary service organisations, which is a part of Lions International spread over in 200 countries and geographical areas. The declamation contest was organised in memory of Melvin Jones, the founder and secretary general of Lions International.”
Prof. C.L.Arora, a prominent theater personality and one of judges at the function encouraged participants to read more books for better performance in their life. He also praised the organisers of this competition for taking such initiatives.
RSD College of Ferozepur won the trophy consisting team of Samirit and Sajan. The first, second and third prize among individuals was won by Gurpreet Kaur of DCM International School, Ferozepur, Sajan of RSD College, Ferozepur and Mithali Dhawan of Army School, Ferozepur Cantt, respectively.
