Ludhiana, November 4, 2012: City police have arrested a suspected liquor smuggler and seized 30 boxes of liquor from his possession.
According to Harbans Singh, In-charge, Anti-Narcotic Cell, the accused has been indentified, as Satvir Singh Shantty.
Satvir’s accomplice Iqbal Singh, alias Kala, managed to escape.
Singh told that the accused was arrested from the Jassian Road on the basis of a tip-off.
The police officer said the accused were allegedly using a fake number plate to mislead the police.
Police have recovered three fake number plates from the arrested accused.
Further police investigation is in progress.
