Local Bodies minister inaugurates renovated Mini Rose Garden in Kidwai Nagar
Project to benefit lakhs of residents of the vicinity - MLA Prashar
Ludhiana, December 7, 2022: Moving forward with the agenda of development and establishing green spaces for the residents, Local bodies minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar inaugurated the renovated Mini Rose garden in Kidwai nagar on Wednesday.
Minister was accompanied by MLAs Ashok Prashar Pappi, Madan Lal Bagga, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Punjab State Cooperative Agriculture Development Bank Chairman Suresh Goyal, councillors Rakesh Prashar among others.
Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Dr Shena Aggarwal stated that the garden is spread in around 3.5 acres and it is the biggest park in the Ludhiana Central constituency. The project to renovate the same has been completed under Ludhiana smart city mission at a cost of around Rs 3.5 crore, including the cost of maintaining the garden for next three years.
Sharing information about the elements/facilities added to the garden under the project, MLA Prashar stated that musical fountains, walkway fountains, two indoor badminton halls, decorative garden lights, open gym, jogging track etc have been established in the garden.
Adding to the scenic beauty of the garden different varieties of plants including roses, foxtail palm, golden cyprus, conocarpus etc have been planted in the garden. Also a botanical garden has been established, he added while adding that development projects have picked up pace after the people have given a chance to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the state.
"Mini Rose garden is the biggest park in the Central constituency. Though residents from different parts of the city will visit the green space, this renovated facility will cater to lakhs of residents residing in the nearby areas. Two indoor badminton courts, open gym, jogging/walking track etc have also been established to facilitate the residents especially youth," said MLA Prashar.
MINISTER KICKSTARTS WORK TO DEVELOP TWO PARKS IN JAWAHAR NAGAR CAMP AREA:
Earlier in the day, Minister Dr Inderbir Singh Nijjar also kickstarted work to develop two parks in Jawahar Nagar camp area namely Ram Lila park and Yamla Jatt park.
The parks will be renovated under smart city mission at a cost of Rs 44.60 lakh.
Accompanying the minster, MLA (Ludhiana West) Gurpreet Bassi Gogi stated that the residents have been seeking development of these parks for a long time. These projects will certainly help in improving scenic beauty of the area and will provide green space to the residents for spending leisure time with their families and friends.
