Jassowal (Ludhiana), May 13, 2016: Local player Wildcard entrant Dalwinder Singh of village Jassowal to sweat it out in the Finals of the HTA-ITF Men’s Futures US$ 10,000 Tennis Tournament being played at Harvest Tennis Academy courts.
Today in Singles semi finals Dalwinder defeated former Davis Cupper Vijayant Malik 6-4, 4-6, 6-4. Also top seed Vishnu Vardhan beat Shintaro Imai of Japan 7-6(6), 6-3.
Interestingly, Dalwinder has beaten three foreign players in the first three rounds, including the fourth seed Christopher Rungkat of Indonesia.
Later in the day top seeded in doubles N.Sriram Balaji & N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth from India won the Doubles Title defeating John Lamble of USA & Bernardo Saraiva of Portugal 6-3, 6-3.
Prizes to Winners and Runner-ups of Doubles Finals were given by Mr. Jasbir Singh Gill, ADG (retd.) Managing Director, Harvest Campus along with Mr. Paras Thakur, Director Tennis, Mr. Gaurav Bhardwaj, Manager Tennis and Mr. Puneet Gupta, ITF Referee of the Tournament.
Tomorrow Singles Finals will start at 1500 hrs followed by prize distribution ceremony.
Singles Semi Finals Round:
Dalwinder SINGH (IND) beat Vijayant MALIK (IND) 6-4, 4-6, 6-4; Vishnu Vardhan (IND) [1] beat Shintaro Imai (JPN) 7-6(6), 6-3.
Doubles Finals Round:
N.Sriram Balaji & N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth (IND) beat John Lamble (USA) & Bernardo Saraiva (POR(6-3, 6-3.
