LOCKDOWN STUCK 4 YEAR PATIALA GIRL IN HIMACHAL PRADESH BOUGHT BACK BY PUNJAB GOVERNMENT

Patiala: Once again Punjab Government and Patiala district administration reunited a child with her parents. This time a girl from Patiala got stuck at Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, due to lockdown in Himachal Pradesh and Curfew in Punjab.
Deputy Commissioner Patiala, Kumar Amit, said that Hamreet, a four year old girl daughter of Sukhwinder Singh, a resident of Ajit Nagar area went to her maternal grandparents’ house at Kangra in Himachal Pradesh, and was stuck there due to nationwide lockdown/ curfew. The girl was not feeling comfortable without her parents there.
DC further added that the girl’s father Sukhwinder Singh approached the district administration. Acting swiftly, the Assistant commissioner (General) Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh directed District child welfare office, DCPO Rupwant Kaur to contact her counterpart at Kangra and arrange the curfew pass for the girl’s maternal grandparents.
Patiala district administration deputed ASI Gurcharan Singh to bring back the girl child. The girl’s maternal grandparents handed over the girl child at Kandwal border in Pathankot. She was medically examined by medical team there. Later, she was again examined at Mata Kaushaliya Hospital at Patiala and handed over to her parents. Now the girl and her parents are home quarantined for next three weeks, as per Punjab government policy.
Sukhwinder Singh, father of Harmeet thanked the Punjab Government and Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit, Assistant Commissioner (General) Dr Ismat Vijay Singh, DCPO Rupwant kaur and Patiala district administration for their sincere efforts and treating their problem on priority.
Earlier also , with the efforts of Patiala deputy commissioner Kumar Amit, a boy Mayamkvir Singh, was also reunited with his parents, who was also stuck in the lockdown
