ELECTION STAFF SHOULD PERFORM THEIR DUTIES WITH UTMOST DEVOTION & HONESTY: PRADEEP KUMAR AGRAWAL Ludhiana, May 14, 2019: Gearing up for holding free, fair and transparent Lok Sabha polls, the district administration today organised a training cum workshop for the polling and counting staff at Guru Nanak Bhawan, here. District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that the main aim of this training-cum-workshop was to acquaint the polling and counting staff about their roles and duties during the polling process. A presentation about EVM, VVPAT machine and other aspects of polling and counting was also organised for the polling and counting staff. While presiding over the training cum workshop, Mr Agrawal urged the election staff to perform their duties with utmost devotion and honesty and warned them of stern action in case of any negligence in performing duty. He said that any sort of negligence on part of poll staff to join duty would be dealt with a heavy hand and appropriate action would be taken against the employees indulging in such malpractices. He said that if there is any issue with either the EVM or VVPAT machine, the concerned polling team would immediately bring it to the notice of their respective Assistant Returning Officer (ARO). He also asked them to report at their place of duty before time so that there is no delay. Prominent among those present in the training cum workshop included ADC (G) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu, all AROs, besides several others.
