LOK SABHA ELECTIONS 2019: IN VIEW OF FORTHCOMING LS POLLS, INCOME TAX DEPT SETS UP CONTROL ROOM & TOLL FREE HELPLINE 18001804814 TO REGISTER COMPLAINTS
Ludhiana, March 14, 2019: Following the directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) to prevent the undue influence of voters by means of money and materials during the ensuing Lok Sabha polls in the state, the Director General Income Tax (Investigation) has set up a dedicated control room centre to receive complaints in this regard. While providing information, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that residents would be able to register any complaint on toll free number 18001804814 regarding anyone carrying huge sums of money in cash or any such thing valued Rs 10 lakh and above which could be used to influence voters during the coming General Election 2019. He said that this helpline would be active 24X7 and would remain operational during the period of Model code of Conduct. Further, Mr Agrawal has requested to the public not to carry huge money or valuable during travel without proper document especially above Rs 50,000.
