Lok Sabha Elections 2024- Administration organizes ‘Nukkad Natak’ under SVEEP
The district administration on Thursday organized a Nukkad Natak in Kidwai Nagar area as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The goal was to educate first-time voters about the importance of voting and electoral participation in the Ludhiana central assembly segment.
Ludhiana, April 25, 2024: The district administration on Thursday organized a Nukkad Natak in Kidwai Nagar area as part of the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative. The goal was to educate first-time voters about the importance of voting and electoral participation in the Ludhiana central assembly segment.
Under the guidance of District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney, NSS cadets from Devki Devi Jain Memorial College for Women took part in the Nukkad Natak to raise public awareness about voting rights. This initiative aimed to promote electoral literacy, especially among first-time voters, and prepare them for the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections in 2024.
The participants encouraged people, particularly the youth, to spread the message of electoral participation within their families, relatives, and communities and ensure their participation on voting day (June 1).
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney stated that the program was organized to create awareness about the importance of voting among citizens. She also mentioned that similar programs would be conducted in the future to ensure a high voter turnout in the upcoming elections. The district administration's goal is to achieve a voter turnout of more than 70 percent during the Lok Sabha elections (This time, 70 Plus).
