Lok Sabha polls: 'Nukkad Natak' and 'Malwai Giddha' organised for encouraging residents to vote

Ludhiana, April 7, 2024: In a unique initiative taken to spread awareness among voters, district administration organised 'Nukkad Natak' and 'Malwai Giddha' at Mini Rose Garden in Giaspura area.
The event was organised under SVEEP program in Ludhiana South constituency.
Assistant Returning Officer (ARO), Ludhiana South, Navneet Kaur Bal; Assistant Commissioner Krishna Pal Rajpoot, ACP South Brij Mohan, SVEEP Nodal Officer of Ludhiana South Varinder Pathak among others also participated in the awareness program.
While the 'Nukkad Natak' was performed by members of NGO Initiators of Change, the 'Malwai Giddha' performance was given by the students of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Sahnewal.
ARO Navneet Kaur Bal said that working on the directions of District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney, a number of voter awareness activities and voter registration camps are being organised in the constituency.
The aim is to ensure maximum participation during the Lok Sabha-2024 elections and to achieve the target of more than 70 per cent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections (Iss Baar, 70 Paar).
Meanwhile, ARO Navneet Kaur Bal reiterated the commitment of administration and police to ensure free, fair and transparent elections. She urged the residents to exercise their 'Right to Vote' without any fear and without coming under anyone's influence.
