Long association between LKC and IOC for contribution to cleanliness program
Cleanliness fortnight as per directions of GoI Jalandhar: Everyone is seen concerned as far as environment is concerned. Even the educationists and all others are seen seriously working for creating an awareness for protecting environment. Similar concern was witnessed in the premises of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar on July 13, 2019. According to available information, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Jalandhar and the NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar collaborated on an impressive function marking the cleanliness fortnight as per the directions of GoI. On this occasion, Rakesh Sarojar DGM Indian Oil Corporation was the chief guest. He was welcomed to the college by President Governing Council Sardarni Balbir Kaur and Principal Dr Gurpinder Singh Samra. In her welcome, Balbir Kaur lauded the effects of Rakesh Sarojar as the DGM of Indian Oil Corporation with special regards to his work for the environment in the region. Principal Dr. Samra recalled the long association between the college and Indian Oil Corporation and their contribution to the cleanliness program in the region whilst also promising rich contribution in the same field by the college and its students in the near future. Valuable views on environment cleanliness were also presented by other guests from Indian Oil Corporation namely OP Jha (Senior Manager), Rajeev Sharma (Manager), Shruti (Manager) and Akash (Assistant Manager). A debate competition was also conducted wherein students presented their views and suggestions regarding environment cleanliness. An impressive rally on environment cleanliness concluded the program. Plants and saplings conveying the message for environment protection were also planted by the Chief Guest and all others present.
