LPU Celebrated 23 Years of Excellence hosted Grand Annual Event, with 5,500 Faculty and Staff Members

Jalandhar, December 27, 2024: Lovely Professional University (LPU) marked a monumental milestone of 23 years with its staff and faculty, who gathered in unison to celebrate not just years of success, but a shared commitment to innovation and global progress. The three-day annual conference, Sanidhya 2024 – Share the Vision, was an extraordinary gathering where more than 5,500 LPU staff and faculty members came together to reflect on their collective journey and set the stage for the future.

Acknowledging various international & national achievements yearlong; the theme celebrated this year was “Who can bring the change? - You” During this grand event, LPU honored over 570 employees with long-service awards, recognizing those who have dedicated upto 20 years of service to the institution. Among those honored was Dr. Monica Gulati, Senior Executive Dean, and Navdeep Singh, Executive Dean who celebrated two decades of outstanding contribution. The ceremony, filled with warmth and camaraderie, highlighted the enduring bond between the university and its staff—an integral force behind LPU’s continuous transformation.

In the keynote address, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, emphasized the university's commitment to innovation and revolutionary education. "The time has come to embrace the future," Dr. Mittal declared, unveiling an initiative to integrate gamification into the curriculum, challenging faculty to create gamified courses with an award for the best one. While acknowledging the challenges, Dr. Mittal expressed confidence that LPU, with its spirit of innovation, is well-equipped to lead this change. Dr. Mittal also discussed the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education, noting, "AI is not a threat to jobs; it’s an opportunity for growth." urged staff to embrace AI, positioning LPU as a potential leader in AI-powered education worldwide. In addition to these initiatives, Dr. Mittal outlined LPU’s plans for campus development, including a movable metallic stadium, expanded sports infrastructure, and a world-class academic block designed in-house by the School of Architecture.

Dr. Mittal further launched a new scholarship program, “SikshakSamanAnudhan”, aimed at empowering educators by offering financial support for their professional growth and development.

This year’s Sanidhya celebrations also featured a unique and impactful initiative “Staff Carnival”, which focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Various departments set up stalls, each centered around a specific SDG such as No Poverty, Gender Equality, and Affordable and Clean Energy, among others. Staff members showcased creativity by organizing games, selling sustainable products, and generating revenue, all of which were then donated to causes supporting those in need. The carnival was a resounding success, not only raising funds for various charitable causes but also engaging staff in meaningful activities aligned with global sustainability goals.
