Jalandhar: Lovely Professional University (LPU) is celebrating 72-hour long global cultural diversity at its campus from today onwards. Occasions are three-day mega diverse cultures celebrations for AIU's second International Youth Festival and India’s largest international students’ fest ‘One World’.  Nearly 25 Indian universities with many thousands of international students belonging to 50+ countries are participating to showcase the unique culture of different countries.  The aim is to promote the idea of the world being one family. Commencing from today, the fest is to continue up to 8th April 2023 at LPU Campus.

The festivities were flagged off with a 4 kilometre long procession which comprised thousands of international students holding flags and banners of their respective country and university. Halting at LPU’s Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis arena; the procession presented art, culture, sports, uniqueness and innovations of different countries.  Later on, the huge assemblage of international students at LPU’s Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium was addressed by the topmost members of the international diplomatic community, national and leaders in education realms.

Presided over by LPU Chancellor Dr Ashok Kumar Mittal, the inaugural day was chaired by the Secretary General of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Dr Pankaj Mittal. Topmost members of the international diplomatic community, stationed in India, including Chargé D'affaires a.i., High Commission of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Thabang Linus Kholumo; and, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Peter Hobwani were eminently present to encourage the international participants. LPU’s Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal and AIU’s Joint Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports) Dr Baljit Singh Sekhon also graced the inaugural ceremonies.

The visiting guests mentioned LPU as an organized and focus oriented institution and anticipated a great keep up for such celebrations to provide a sensitized human resource to the world.

Greeting the high-profiled guests at the campus and encouraging the students to be truly global students, Chancellor Dr Mittal shared: “We all at LPU are immensely glad to see the mini-world at the campus. It’s indeed a kind gesture of AIU’s top officials for reposing faith in LPU’s abilities to organize world level fest. LPU’s global identification is a source of great pride for all of us, as thousands of students from across the world consider LPU as their own home. This is a testimony to LPU’s providing quality education and promoting a culture of inclusiveness.”

The event is familiarising students how to exist and act in oneness amid huge diversity. Students from different countries in India are also celebrating the cultural extravaganza of LPU's world-renowned mega event, "One World" along with AIU’s annual fest. The gathering at LPU, including all national students, is indeed to imbibe an enormous union of globe’s splendid cultures as being portrayed by a dynamic community of talented students. All of them are bringing the whole of the world in micro form on a single campus-LPU for peace and prosperity all around.
