LPU conducted Online Freshmen Induction Programs for thousands of its Distance and Online Students

Jalandhar, May 25, 2024: The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) of Lovely Professional University (LPU) conducted the Student Induction Programs for freshly enrolled students of Online and Distance mode Programs of the February 2024 batch, through a Webinar Platform. The Induction Programs were also streamed LIVE on the official YouTube channels and Facebook pages of LPU Online and Distance Education study modes. Thousands of students from disciplines like Management, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Science, Commerce, Arts, and Library & Information Sciences attended the induction programs and got oriented about the systems and processes of the Distance and Online Learning Programs of the University.

The programs consisted of various interactive sessions covering the University background, Salient Features of UGC Regulations on Open & Distance Learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) Programmes, Virtual Tour of the University, Learning Management System, Academic Delivery, Evaluation System and Students’ Support Services for Online and Distance Learners. The programs were specifically designed keeping in consideration the template prescribed by the University Grants Commission for conducting Student Induction Programs for ODL and OL Programs.

Students were provided with ample opportunities to interact directly with senior officials of LPU, including the Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Lovi Raj Gupta, Registrar Dr. Monica Gulati, Director Dr. Pavitar Parkash Singh, Head of Wing Ms. Ginni Nijhawan, and senior faculty and staff members of the Centre for Distance and Online Education, allowing for the clarification of their doubts and queries. The lively exchange of thought and ideas motivated the freshly enrolled learners, to excel further in their academic and professional pursuits by making the best use of the holistic opportunities being provided to them by LPU as part of their study programs.
