LPU emerges Overall National Winner in Inter-University National Youth Festival
Lovely Professional University (LPU) has achieved a remarkable feat by emerging as the Overall National Winner in the 37th National Youth Festival 2024. This prestigious festival, known as "Hunar – Harvesting National Talent," took place at Punjab Agricultural University (Ludhiana) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The festival witnessed participation from more than 2250 students representing near 120 universities from across India. LPU students proved their mettle among 3.5 Crore Indian students of 51200 institutions & universities of all 8 Zones.
Jalandhar, April 3, 2024: Lovely Professional University (LPU) has achieved a remarkable feat by emerging as the Overall National Winner in the 37th National Youth Festival 2024. This prestigious festival, known as "Hunar – Harvesting National Talent," took place at Punjab Agricultural University (Ludhiana) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The festival witnessed participation from more than 2250 students representing near 120 universities from across India. LPU students proved their mettle among 3.5 Crore Indian students of 51200 institutions & universities of all 8 Zones.
LPU's exceptionally talented students showcased their skills and surpassed competitors in the top 5 genres of Theatre, Literary, Music, Dance, Fine Arts and the Procession also. This outstanding performance led LPU to secure the coveted 'Overall Inter-University National Championship Trophy-2024.' The university's diverse and vibrant cultural vivacity left an indelible mark, highlighting the rich heritage of the nation. LPU students clinched the titles of: Overall Winner (Cultural Procession); Overall Champions (Fine Arts & Dance); Overall Runners-Up (Music & Literary), and Overall 2nd Runners-Up (Theatre).
It is a rare and remarkable achievement for a private university to win this highly competitive youth festival, where institutions such as the University of Delhi, Pune, Chennai, and Mumbai participate. LPU's triumph demonstrates the exceptional talent and dedication of its students, setting a new benchmark for excellence.
Congratulating the multi-talented students of LPU on their national championship, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Founder Chancellor of LPU and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), expressed his admiration and encouraged them to always uphold the spirit of winning amidst the vibrant celebration of India's cultural diversity. He emphasized the importance of such illustrious participation in showcasing the country's cultural heritage. Dr Mittal also encouraged the winning students of diverse professional disciplines on entrepreneurial basis: “Your versatile talents are sure to lead you to rule in the Bollywood as well.”
Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal wished them for continuing triumphs and progress, and advised to always concentrate on their efforts however big or small these may be.
LPU's triumph at the 37th National Youth Festival is a testament to the university's commitment to nurturing talent and promoting cultural excellence. To commemorate this victory, the students had a round of the university campus, with drums, musical instruments, and danced, yelled to share their happiness with the staff members and students gathered at the Shanti Devi Mittal Auditorium.
The festival concluded with a mesmerizing performance by the iconic Punjabi singer, Gurdas Maan, who captivated the audience with his timeless melodies. The announcement of Lovely Professional University (LPU) as the Overall Champion further added to the grandeur of the event. Banasthali Vidyapeeth Jaipur and Chandigarh University, Gharuan, secured the second position, while six universities, including Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar; Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala; University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram; Maharishi Dayanand University, Rohtak; Kurukshetra University, and University of Mumbai, shared the third position.
