LPU Hosted workshop for 2000+ medical lab professionals
The Cabinet Minister Aman Arora, inaugurated a workshop at LPU

Jalandhar: A mega medical workshop brought together over 2,000+ healthcare laboratory professionals and representatives from more than 30 companies at the Lovely Professional University (LPU) campus. The workshop, themed “Decoding Diseases: Insights from Microscopic Examination," was organized by LPU’s Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences (School of Allied Medical Sciences) and the Human Resource Development Center, in collaboration with the Joint Association of Independent Medical Laboratory and Allied Professionals (JAIMLAP).
The workshop was inaugurated by Chief Guest Aman Arora, Cabinet Minister. Arora emphasized the government's commitment to good governance and praised medical laboratory practitioners for their vital service to society. Arora also highlighted a key announcement from the recent Punjab budget, under which each family in Punjab will now receive ₹10 lakh per year in medical coverage, strengthening the state’s healthcare system and supporting healthcare professionals. Arora further recognized the contributions of JAIMLAP’s State President, Jagdeep S. Bhardwaj, and National General Secretary, Rajan Bector, for their leadership in the sector. Arora also commended Lovely Professional University for its role in promoting diversity, inclusivity, higher education, and employment opportunities.
Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, applauded healthcare professionals for their dedicated service to the nation, particularly during the pandemic. Dr. Mittal announced an additional 10% scholarship for JAIMLAP association’s professionals seeking further studies at LPU and extended access to LPU’s facilities including the sports complex, auditorium, and advanced laboratories for training and development initiatives by JAIMLAP.
LPU’s Pro Vice Chancellor Dr. Sanjay Modi and Executive Dean Dr. Monica Gulati also addressed the gathering, encouraging participants to pursue continuous quality improvement and professional growth. Their encouraging words motivated attendees to strive for excellence in their respective roles and contribute to advancing the field of medical lab technology.
Training sessions led by LPU experts including Dr. Naresh Kumar, Harpreet Singh, Dr. Raman, and Dr. Rohit Rai, offered in-depth insights into modern instrumentation, diagnostic methodologies, hematological and microbiological interpretations, clinical pathology interpretations, and biowaste segregation.
The event reinforced the vital role of laboratory professionals in healthcare delivery and reaffirmed LPU’s commitment to preparing students for leadership roles in the medical and allied sciences sectors. It also served as a key platform for professional advancement, offering extensive placement and internship opportunities for Medical Laboratory Sciences students while promoting industry engagement across Punjab.
