LPU lifts AIU’s North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (Women) Championship Trophy
The North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (Women) Championship-2023 was hosted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It took place at the Kho Kho Game Compound of Lovely Professional University. The event lasted three days, and there were a total of 34 teams that fiercely competed against one another. LPU’s fast scorer Neeta Devi has been declared the Best Player of the Championship.
Jalandhar, December 19, 2023: The North Zone Inter-University Kho-Kho (Women) Championship-2023 was hosted by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). It took place at the Kho Kho Game Compound of Lovely Professional University. The event lasted three days, and there were a total of 34 teams that fiercely competed against one another. LPU’s fast scorer Neeta Devi has been declared the Best Player of the Championship.
While handing over the Championship trophy to the winners, LPU Pro Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal congratulated the winners and encouraged all others to keep up the sportsmanship and competitive spirit within to excel one or the other day.
Throughout their many matches, LPU women’s players displayed the finest of the game’s running and chasing talents. As a result, they were able to grab the winners’ trophy away from the grasp of powerful teams that were regarded as their strong competitors.
The MDU Rohtak team has been given the title of first runner-up; Punjab University team declared second runner-up; and, Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra is at fourth place.
One of India’s most well-known and widely played traditional games is Kho-Kho. It is played by multiple teams, each of which is composed of 12 players, of which 9 join the playing field and the remaining 3 become the members of the defending team. It is a game that has a very high level of competition.
