LPU organized AICTE approved Short Term Course on Innovative Pedagogical Practices
Five Day innovative dissemination in virtual learning mode saw 100+ participants from Higher Education domains
Jalandhar: The Human Resource Development Center (HRDC) at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized a five-day AICTE approved short term course on ‘Innovative Pedagogical Practices in Higher Education’. This innovative dissemination in virtual learning mode saw 100+ participants from various higher education domains of the country. The course flow expanded its reach to PAN India through compliance made to participants’ queries round the clock by its designers. Here, a futuristic agenda of innovating pedagogical strategies was adopted to improve standards of higher education as per National Education Policy- 2020.
AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy approved program was conducted by seasoned subject matter experts of LPU. They deliberated upon “pedagogical innovations in the changing paradigm of higher education; digitization of learning and assessment; individual differences in learners’ personality; learning styles; and, emotional intelligence.
LPU Pro-Chancellor Mrs Rashmi Mittal congratulated AICTE for patronizing such faculty development programs that would empower academic fraternity to conduct teaching and research that meets globally benchmarked standards. She also applauded the initiative of public-private partnership for disseminating innovative pedagogical strategies to faculty members and research scholars across India through HRDC at LPU’. In fact, the ‘Think Big’ vision of LPU empowered the organization of this program as per AICTE guidelines.
Eminent ‘Resource Panel’ from LPU comprised Prof Dr Sanjay Modi, Executive Dean at Faculty of Business and Arts; Prof Dr Lovi Raj Gupta, Executive Dean at Faculty of Technology and Sciences; Prof Dr Dharam Buddhi, Executive Dean, Division of Innovation and Entrepreneurship; Prof Dr Rajesh Verma, Dean at Mittal School of Business; Prof Dr Sunaina Ahuja, Associate Dean at HRDC; Prof Dr Savita Gupta, HoD at Faculty Development department; Prof Dr Mridula Mishra; Head Academic Operations Dr Rahul Sharma; and, Prof Dr Parteek Bhatia from the Department of CSE, Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology.
The program outcomes are summarized as capacity building on blended learning; learner centred pedagogies; e-content development for flipped classroom; learning styles and personality of adult learners; nurturing leadership skills for academic excellence; case based teaching; enhancing digital footprints; online assessment; open educational resources; and, developing emotional intelligence.
