LPU organized two-day ‘International Conference on Recent Advances in Health Sciences’
The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized two-day ‘International Conference on Recent Advances in Health Sciences (ICRAHS)-2023’. Held in association with Iraq’s Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST); the conference aimed at research works in the areas of mutual interest.
Jalandhar, May 17, 2023: The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Lovely Professional University (LPU) organized two-day ‘International Conference on Recent Advances in Health Sciences (ICRAHS)-2023’. Held in association with Iraq’s Komar University of Science and Technology (KUST); the conference aimed at research works in the areas of mutual interest.
Deliberations held during ICRAHS opened up many opportunities for the researchers who got motivated to collaborate for joint projects, publications and patents in near future.
The conference was conducted in hybrid mode with live YouTube streaming of all scientific lectures and panel discussion. Around 400 delegates had registered of whom maximum presented their works either as poster or oral presentations. Here, illustrious scientists shared their knowledge, expertise and research findings with the thousands of participating students and faculty members.
Prominently present among the speakers were Principal Scientist, CSIR-CFTRI (Mysuru) Dr Muthu Kumar; Associate Professor Dr Deepak Nair from the Centre for Neuroscience (IISc Bangalore); Dr. Prem Kumar Indracanti, Scientist 'F', Institute of Nuclear Medicine & Allied Sciences DRDO, New Delhi; Dr Vijay Pal Singh, Consultant WHO, and Dr Dave Lewis from University of Leeds, UK; and, Dr Rajni Jha, Independent Pharma Consultant, Chandigarh.
On the first day of the conference, a workshop was organized, which comprised "Hands-On Training of Instruments used in pharmaceutical industry and research". On this occasion, KUST’s Vice President Prof Dr Kawis Faraj chaired the conference. Cardiovascular Sciences’ Professor & Deputy Head Dr Dipak Ramji from Cardiff University (UK) was the Guest of Honour. Along with them eight eminent scientists from across the globe were also there, who addressed different scientific sessions.
On this occasion an MoU signing ceremony was also held in the presence of KUST’s Vice President Dr Kawis, LPU’s Vice President Dr Aman Mittal and Registrar Dr Monica Gulati.
In fact, affiliated with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI), LPU’s Pharmaceutical Sciences’ discipline has emerged as a distinctive institute. With its being among top 251-300 globally & 9th in India in QS World Universities Rankings-2023 by subject-Pharmacy & Pharmacology; it has developed its brand throughout. Presently, it is recognized by various prestigious national and international rankings, including 19th Rank from Govt. of India’s NIRF and 8th in India by THE World Universities Rankings 2023. Nurturing students as responsible Pharma professionals, it anticipates addressing health issues of all measures on local, national, and international level.
