LPU student won Best Innovation award for Artificial intelligence in NITI Aayog supported Event
For this, All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) honoured LPU’s Biomedical Engineering Student
Jalandhar, October 1, 2021: All India Council for Robotics and Automation (AICRA) has honoured 3rd year Biomedical Engineering student Kunwar Sahi of Lovely Professional University (LPU) for the ‘Best Innovation in Artificial Intelligence Hardware’ in his Startup- ‘NeuroX Technologies’. This occasion was NITI Aayog (Govt. of India) supported 2nd edition of ‘Global Artificial Intelligence Summit & Awards (GAISA)-2021’ organized by AICRA. Sahi was nominated in three categories -- “Best Use of AI in Healthcare”, ``Best use of Predictive/Prescriptive Analytics`` and '' Best Innovation in AI Hardware”.
In fact, a few years back, President Ram Nath Kovind had warned of a potential “mental health epidemic” in the country, with 10 percent of its 1.3 billion-strong population having suffered from one or more mental health problems. Poor awareness of mental health symptoms, social stigma, and lack of adequate resources & facilities stop people from getting the help they need.
In this context, presently CEO of his Startup- ‘NeuroX Technologies’, Sahi is determined to awaken the common masses and eradicate the mental health problem. He is pursuing a major in biomedical engineering and a minor in psychology from LPU. Here, he has gained varied experience in different branches of technology such as ML/DL, Smart Biomedicine and E-Healthcare. He is also deft in ML, Python, JS and other computer languages; medical imaging systems and healthcare related courses. Thus, he has launched a ‘Startup’ based on application of ML and IoT in Psychiatric care.
Student, researcher and innovator at LPU, Sahi explains that his device ‘NeuroX Technologies’ has two components-Software & Hardware. He has prepared a sort of questionnaire of 30 possible queries for the physical and mental level of the patient. The software process forwards these to IoT, ML & AI components to diagnose the stress level of the patient, possible range of its enhancement, and prescriptions thereof to ease it out. Further, in consultation with the specialist, a patient gets exact and better treatment.
Sahi also informs that a novel framework was required to address mental health issues while being highly patient specific; affordable; and, a reliable coordinator to clinicians. Hence, his ‘NeuroX Technologies’ is there for the benefit of global society.
