LPU’s 90 per cent education students qualified national Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET)
Qualifying percentage of the test appearing students is very high in comparison to national level average of merely 29.46 percent
Jalandhar: Fifty-four students of the School of Education at Lovely Professional University have successfully cracked the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) once again. The qualifying percentage of the LPU students who appeared in the December-2022 test is 90%, in comparison to the very low ‘29.46’, on the whole at national level.
Almost all of the LPU students cracked the tough considered test in their very first attempt. Moreover, they are yet to pass out in the current year-2023. With special focus on CTET syllabus mapped courses, thorough guidance is provided to the students at the university. The preparedness is also coupled with the mock entrance exam evaluation pattern.
Congratulating the successful students with illustrious results, Pro Chancellor Rashmi Mittal informed that education programmes at LPU are to create teachers as per 21st century needed technological skills. While encouraging the hard-working faculty members at the school, Mittal also bade best wishes to the students for further glorifying success in their professional lives ahead.
Now, after receiving the CTET certificates, LPU students can further apply for all Central/State Government Teaching jobs like in Kendriya Vidyalaya Schools (KVS); Navodaya Vidyalaya Schools (NVS), Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB), and some of the state government teaching jobs. Worth noticing, candidates cannot apply for central government teaching jobs without a CTET certificate.
In fact, this test is administered by the Central Board of Secondary Education of India. For this, LPU students are provided with rigorous practice of previous years’ questions in the classroom. Each student is then evaluated through 3000+ multiple choice questions (MCQs). In addition, courses such as analytical skills; social science/ mathematics and science; and, comprehension in languages (Hindi and English) are also dealt with.
The education programmes at LPU, including integrated (BA/BSC BEd; BEd-MEd) and separate BEd, MEd, MA Education- all are scheduled to prepare secondary school teachers by comprehensive curricular coverage with intensive training and field engagement. Maximum of the subject combinations are also available at the school.
