LPU’s International Students and Staff Members participated in Government’s ‘Study in India’ Diplomatic Conclave
Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education chaired the conclave
Jalandhar, February 28, 2022: Government of India’s Diplomatic Conclave for ‘Study in India’ program was organized at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan in New Delhi, where international students & staff members of Lovely Professional University (LPU) also participated, vehemently, for the spread of its cause. The inauguration ceremony of the programme was presided over by the Union Minister of State for External Affairs and Education, Shri Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
The programme emphasized upon the opportunities available to international students under the ‘Study in India’ programme of the Government of India to strengthen cooperation between countries in the education sector. Event was witnessed by Sr officials of Government of India, Ambassadors, Sr. Diplomats from more than 30 countries, along with various other elite guests and senior officers of Edcil (India).
Associate Director Nitesh Mahajan, at LPU’s Division of International Affairs, attended the international conclave as one of the panellists. On this occasion, LPU’s international students from Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Mozambique also performed on India’s famous Punjabi folk dance Bhangra. LPU students’ flawless performance clearly postulated the significance of cultural exchange and allied advantages through the ‘Study in India’ programme at LPU. It is worth mentioning that nearly 4000 students from 50+ countries study at LPU.
Along with LPU, the program had selected over 100 leading Indian institutions like IIMs, IITs, NITs, private and government institutions based on top 100 NIRF Ranking. These institutes are offering attractive tuition fee waivers of up to 100% to bright international students with courses in UG, PG, PhD and niche areas through the SII portal (www.studyinindia.gov.in).
The objective of ‘Study in India Diplomatic Conclave’ was to promote sharing of best academic and research practices through interactions held for diverse education systems among foreign dignitaries. In fact, all of them have helped in understanding the higher education systems adopted in various international markets.
