LPU’s students win 5 lakh grant in Ministry of Education’s national Robotics and Drones competition
Students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have once again showcased their innovation prowess by emerging as champions in the prestigious national "Yukti Innovation Challenge (YIC)" 3.0, convened by the Government of India's Ministry of Education. The LPU team, known as "Innovortex," surpassed over 1,000 teams from across India to claim victory in the student innovation category of Robotics and Drones.
Jalandhar, May 16, 2024: Students from Lovely Professional University (LPU) have once again showcased their innovation prowess by emerging as champions in the prestigious national "Yukti Innovation Challenge (YIC)" 3.0, convened by the Government of India's Ministry of Education. The LPU team, known as "Innovortex," surpassed over 1,000 teams from across India to claim victory in the student innovation category of Robotics and Drones.
The Ministry of Education has also recognized the students' exceptional talent by awarding them a grant of Rs 5 Lakhs to support their innovative endeavors. The victory at the YIC comes on the heels of their recent success at the Smart India Hackathon-2023 Grand Finale (Hardware Edition), solidifying LPU's position as a leader in research and innovation
The groundbreaking innovation developed by the LPU students aims to tackle the critical issue of collisions and accidents during construction and excavation processes, with a particular focus on tunnels and caves. Their robot presents a promising solution that can revolutionize safety measures in these challenging environments.
