LSCL Director Delivers Key Note Lecture On Smart Cities In Pune

Ludhiana, January 30, 2017: City architect Sanjay Goel who is the Director of Ludhiana Smart City Limited (LSCL) and Chairman of Indian Institute of Architects, Chandigarh Punjab Chapter (IIACPC) was the key note speaker in Smart Cities National Conference held at Pune recently.

He was specially invited to speak and share his experience about town planning and Smart Cities.

He explained in detail the policies of Government and role of architects in proposed smart cities. Adding to it he discussed about pan city works to be done under smart city mission as well as how to take up area based developments.

He also gave a brief regarding Pan City Mission which includes not only proper road engineering but also other aspects of water supply, garbage disposal system, sewerage disposal, rain water harvesting and all other small but significant aspects to upgrade a city.

It was also discussed that the Smart City team must work in close relation with Corporation of the same city and all Special Purpose Vehicle’s (SPV) must have at least one architect from that particular city. He added that all Smart City projects must have more control of the Central Government and Ministry of Urban Development than the state government, so as to create maximum uniformity. He answered all the queries very efficiently.

Goel was presented with the Certificate of Appreciation for his contribution in the National Conference ‘SMART CITIES: APPROACHES, OPPORTUNITIES & CHALLENGES’. The Conference was attended by architects, town planners and engineers.
