Students participate in LSSC short play competition at BCM, Dugri, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, November 9, 2014: BCM School, Dugri, Ludhiana got the proud privilege to host the LSSC Short Play Competition in its premises on Saturday.

The day was graced by the presence of Vijay Munjal, Rekha Munjal alongwith other dignitaries such as Sh. R B Khanna (Education Advisor) Amarjyoti Chawla (Principal BCM, Basant City).

A traditional lamp lighting ceremony marked the beginning of the competition. The School Principal, Dr.Vandna Shahi warmly welcomed the chief guests and all the other dignitaries. About 20 teams from different CBSE schools across the city participated in the event giving a tough competition. Students showcased their theatrical talents in their presentation of various social evils prevalent in the modern society.

The stage was set ablaze with burning issues like, ‘Durga chali gayi’, ‘Sarhadan hor vi ne’, ‘nashea vichgaltan samaj’ etc sensitising the audience about the critical issues. Their talents were adjudged by an esteemed and capable panel comprising of Surjit Singh who has a 20 year long experience of stage, Ms. Kamlesh Gupta, a renowned TV anchor and Kirpal Singh who is Forest Officer in PAU. They remarked the event to be very competitive and informative. The competition was close knit with Greenland School, Jalandhar bypass bagging the first position, BCM Sr.Sec. School, Chandigarh road the second and Guru Nanak International School, Model Town bagging the third position. The Appreciation Prize was awarded to Shamrock Christian School, Hambran Road. The function concluded with happy note.
