Lt Gen (Retd) TS Shergill holds review meeting with district administration and guardians of governance
Appreciates role of GOGs during lockdown/curfew
Ludhiana: Senior Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab, Lt Gen (Retd) TS Shergill today chaired a review meeting with the senior district administration officials and Guardians of Governance (GoGs) at Bachat Bhawan, here. During the meeting, Mr Shergill said that the GOGs have played an important role on various fronts during the ongoing lockdown/curfew.
While appreciating the role of GOGs during the lockdown/curfew, Mr Shergill asked the District Administration and GOG District Head Col (Retd) HS Kahlon to prepare a list of GOGs who have performed exceptional duty during the lockdown/curfew, so that it could be brought to the notice of Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.
He informed that despite the fact that majority of the GOGs are above 55 years of age, they still went out in open and contributed in performing their duties at mandis, banks, godowns and other places, without fearing about their health. He urged the GOGs to keep sending their feedback, which is being directly shared with the Chief Minister. He appreciated the GOGs for always sending actual report without any political bias.
During the meeting, Lt Gen (Retd) TS Shergill also reviewed the work related to distribution of ration to the needy in ongoing lockdown/curfew.
Prominent among those present in the meeting included ADC (General) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu, ADCP (Headquarter) Mr Deepak Pareek, Mr Karan Veer Singh, OSD to Lt Gen (Retd) TS Shergill, besides others.
