Ludhiana Administration undertakes project to install hi-tech cameras across city to ensure foolproof public safety: MLA Sanjay Talwar
Hands over cheque of Rs 75 lakh to MC Commissioner in presence of deputy commissioner & commissioner of police
Ludhiana, November 3, 2021: In continuation of their efforts to ensure foolproof public safety, the Ludhiana Administration through Police Commissionerate has initiated project to install latest technology lassed high-end night vision cameras at every sensitive point of the city.
Disclosing this here earlier this evening during a press conference, Ludhiana Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the project would not have been possible without the active support of MLA Ludhiana (East) Sanjay Talwar who arranged funds worth Rs 75 lakh for this initiative and ensured the local city corporation was on board for its smooth execution.
Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma and MC Commissioner Pardeep Kumar Sabharwal were also present on the occasion.
Addressing the media, MLA Sanjay Talwar reiterated the state government commitment to ensure latest tech is employed for public good, while lauding the city Police brass for their forthcoming cooperation. He also thanked Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal for sanctioning funds for this project.
As many as 163 cameras at 28 locations in Ludhiana east constituency of Ludhiana which will keep a tab on the vehicular movement at all 28 locations falling under the east jurisdiction monitoring the vehicle traffic management round the clock, he added.
The hi-tech cameras have recording facility of one month, and uninterrupted power supply to monitor crime even when electricity is at fault. The back up of whole network will be provided for monitoring at police lines, ADCP Office and at ACP Office for minute to minute. These cameras are cyber secured and No hacking is possible in these cameras, the CP Ludhiana further added.
Above all the Optical Fibre Installation and Internet Connectivity will be sponsored and provided free of cost for 5 years by Netplus. These cameras will roughly cover area with over 03 lakh residential population, the CP added.This project will be executed by corporation and will be monitored by Police.
