Ludhiana Architects celebrated World Town Planning Day
Ludhiana, November 8, 2021: Architects under the banner of Indian Institute of Architects Ludhiana Centre (IIALC) celebrated World Town Planning Day today. This day is also known as World Urbanism Day and was founded in 1949 by the Late Professor Carlos Maria della Paolera of the University of Buenos Aires, a graduate at the Institutd’urbanisme in Paris, to advance public and professional interest in planning.
Architect Sanjay Goel- Chairman of IIA Punjab Chapter and one of the Director of Ludhiana Smart City Limited was speaker and explained that. Ludhiana is not only a big industrial city in North India but is also one of the upcoming Smart City, so Local Administration/corporation with support of State Government must work more towards best town planning.
The aim is to promote the role of planning in creating liveable urban communities. This day also creates awareness of the environmental impact created by the development of cities. WTPD brings together professional planners and architects to see how we can shape the world into an ideal place that we want to live and work in.
Urban Planning is both a technical and political process that looks into the use of land and design of the urban communities.
Urban Planning ensures that there is an orderly development of human and satellite communities.
As modern society continues to face unsustainable development, population growth, and climate changes, Urban planning becomes an increasingly vital aspect.
