Ludhiana-based Daljit Singh Matharoo sets two new records in Limca Book

Fastest West to East in 94 hours Solo & Return trip West-East-West in 217 hours

Ludhiana, May 23, 2018: A Passionate - Engineer by profession of Ludhiana city Mr.Daljit Singh Matharoo has set Two New records in Limca book.

At First record, Mr.Singh had covered a distance of 3,832 km in 94 hours and 44 minutes by traversing seven states -Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.

In his 2nd record, he took the return from same route map. Which is a new record in the Solo Category completed in 217hrs and 25mins.

The flag officer at BOP koteshvar in Kutch district flagged off the journey at 1:50pm on April 27th and reached destination Tezu in Lohit district of Arunachal Pradesh at 12:34pm on 1st May, in 94 hrs and 44mins & beat the previous record of 114 hrs and 25 mins in the solo category.

Mr. Singh says that it was the race to beat the time & he start his mindset 6 month before to achieve his target. His preparation includes control on Sleep, Diet and concentration. It is very difficult for a single person to manage all the things like Time, fuel, maintenance of vehicle etc.

Mr. Singh says “Out of 94hrs and 44min, he gets only 6hrs and 40mins sleep on the way as he was racing against time to complete the expedition.

“But all the grace of God that I have achieve duo records in minimum time. It was my passion. I give this credit to my family & friend to support me both Financial & emotionally to stand with my decision”, Singh Says.

Overall the records expenses budgeted about 1.50 lakh which cover Fuel, Maintenance & other expenditure. But it is little amount against his love to the adventure of roads.

It is also noticeable that Mr. Singh had also tried to attempt a record earlier from North to south. He was just 600 km far from his destination when he, unfortunately, met an accident.

“Now these records boost my energy & I will definitely re-attempt the North-South Expedition” he says.
