LUDHIANA CITY WITNESSES:  Star cast of ‘Luv Shuv Te Chicken Khurana’

Ludhiana, October 30, 2012: It’s time to revive your taste buds. Bollywood’s first film in the food genre, ‘Luv Shuv Te Chicken Khurana’ is all set to be served at your nearest cinema theatre on 2nd November, 2012.

Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, the lead cast of the movie alongwith producer Anurag Kashyap were in the city on the promotional tour today. The movie is directed by Sameer Sharma.

Kunal Kapoor, Bollywood actor and lead actor of the movie said, “I am playing the role of Omi, who ran away from home at a very young age. Following trouble with some gangs in London, he returns home many years later in hope of some monetary aid. However, he realises that his grandfather’s dhaba, called Chicken Khurana after his famous chicken preparation, has shut down and his childhood sweetheart is engaged to his cousin. Omi realises that in order to set his life right, he must discover the recipe of Chicken Khurana, which his grandfather, veteran actor Vinod Nagpal as Daarji, no longer remembers.”

Anurag Kashyap, Producer of the movie said, “Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana is what I call 'a romance'. It's about romanticising about Chicken Khurana and the hunt for the missing recipe and it also has a sweet and endearing romance between Huma's character and Kunal's character.”

Huma Qureshi, Bollywood actress and leading lady of the film said, “The simplicity of it will touch the hearts of many. So, through the film and its promotions we are not just talking about food and tips to making good food, we are also talking about how a true romance should be.”

Directed by Sameer Sharma, the film is a funny story about a Punjabi family - the Khuranas. They run a dhaba and take pride in their food, especially their patent Chicken recipe.Set in the village of Lalton in Punjab, the film has been shot primarily on location and also in Ludhiana. To add authenticity to the depiction of Punjab as well as qualify as a true food film, Sharma and his team made several trips to the state to meet local food specialists, chefs and also farmers and other regular people. The experiences gave them a sense of the culture, people, food habits along with pictorial references.
