Ludhiana, August 15, 2018: The 72ndIndependence Day was celebrated at Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana with patriotic spirit. The Program started with Thanksgiving service for the country at the College Chapel, followed by Flag hoisting, March past and cultural events. The Chief Guest, Mr.Rajinder Gupta, Chairman, Trident Group was welcomed by the Director, Dr.William Bhatti.

The Principal of Christian Medical College, Dr.Jeyaraj Pandian introduced the Chief Guest. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest Mr.Rajinder Gupta appreciated the contribution of CMC Ludhiana to the health care of Northwestern States. He also highlighted the compassionate patient care delivered by the health care professionals of CMC.

The presence of the Administrative team, staff and students marked the occasion. Patriotic songsand dances were presented by the students of five colleges of CMC i.e. Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiotherapy & IAHS. The Vice-Principal, Student Activities Dr.Gagandeep Kwatra thanked everyone for the help extended.

Blood donation camp was held to mark the Independence Day and many doctors and medical students donated blood. An Eye camp was also organized at CMC where over 200 patients were given free screening, eye check up and medication and 20 free cataract surgeries are scheduled to be done. The free surgeries are being supported by CBM for the people of Punjab. This Independence Day many more will be able to see.
