Ludhiana Commissionerate Police bust another interstate drugs smuggling gang, five arrested
Recover 2.60 kg opium and 1.5 kg ganja- CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar
Ludhiana, April 4, 2022: Continuing its anti-drug drive, Ludhiana Commissionerate Police have busted another inter-state drugs peddling gang involved in supply of Ganja and opium into Punjab. The police have arrested five members of this gang along with the recovery of 1.60 KG opium and 1.50 KG of Ganja, which was being smuggled into Punjab from Bihar.
Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that on a tip off CIA Staff-I had laid a trap and arrested two accused namely Deepak @ Babu, Deen Dyal alias Dil Patel, both residents of District Gaya, Bihar while three Ludhiana residents namely Vijay Singh, Sarvesh Singh, and Ranjeet Pandey were also held.
The CP said that two separate cases have been registered against the accused besides their police remand would also be taken from the court to further investigate into their forward and backward lknkages so as to effectively curb the activity of this gang. He also reiterated that the severest of severe action will be ensured against persons involved in the heinous trade of drugs.
