Ludhiana Commissionerate Police busts gang of robbers, five arrested
Two pistols, live rounds recovered, three major robbery incidents solved- CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar
Ludhiana, March 2, 2022: In a major breakthrough, Ludhaiana Commissionerate Police have busted another gang of robbers by arresting five members of this gang leading towards tracing of three robbery incidents that took place in last two months.
Divulging the details, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the arrested accused have been identified as Ravinder singh, a resident of Manjit Nagar, Amandeep Singh, Balkar Singh and Davinder Singh of village Khujawke, and Gurdev Singh of Rajasthan.The police have recovered as many as one pistol of .32 bore one another of .315 bore along with eight live rounds.
Revealing the modus operandi of this gang, the Commissioner of Police mentioned that the accused had been indulging in many incidents including robbery, theft in the past adding they used to rob people at gun-point in both urban and rural areas. He mentioned that the accused Gurdev Singh, a resident of Rajasthan had procured weapons to committ this crime, who was also nabbed by police teams. Mr. Bhullar said that the arrest of this gang has unearthed three major robbery incidents including robbery at wine shop on gunpoint in village Birmi, Hambra Road and robbery at an outlet of western union money transfer, at Rahon Road on Fenruary 25, this. Likewise, the gang carried out the third incident at wine shop located at Doaba Bahini Kuhara, Road on February 6, 2022. The accused looted cash, mobile phones and wine during these robberies. He also stated that the police remand of these accused have been taken from the court to further trace other incidents and to arrest their accomplices. The raids were on to arrest remaining accused,he added.
The CP said that the consecutive operations of Commissionerate Police against criminals would certainly deter criminals leading to crime control in the city besides tracing some other cases too.
