In Ludhiana, CT University marks Independence Day
Ludhiana, August 14, 2018: To mark the 72nd anniversary of India’s Independence, CT University, Ludhiana celebrated the I-Day to recall the spirit of patriotism and to pay tribute to Indian struggle for freedom. The celebration began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice Chancellor, CTU, Dr Jagtar Singh Dhiman, Registrar, Dr Gurvinder Bakshi, Dean Academics and faculty members. The Chief Guest was escorted by the cadets to the venue following which he unfurled the tricolour and took salute. The event was presided over by the University Chancellor, S. Charanjit Singh Channi while the Departmental heads, faculty and students graced the occasion. After the National Anthem, which heralded the patriotic spirit among the crowd, the event moved on with the performance of the Bhangra item by CTU students. A tuft of tricolor balloons was released in the air to highlight the sense of freedom. On this occasion, the diligence and dedication with which the field functionary Nirbhai Singh works, was recognized with the special award by the Chancellor. Dr Sadawarti delivered motivating speech and expressed gratitude to the nation builders for their long and persistent efforts. The university observed this historic day with enthusiasm and revived the pledge of being dutiful to this country.
