Ludhiana, August 14, 2018: On the eve of Independence Day, an inter college declamation contest was held today on the theme “Drug Abuse: Say Yes to life and No to Drugs” in Lecture Theatre 1 of Dumra Auditorium. Participants from ten different colleges of the city participated in the contest and spoke elaborately on the nuisance of drug abuse. They strongly spoke about the prevalence of drug abuse in the country, particularly in the state of Punjab. The contest was inaugurated by Vice-President of DMCH Managing Society- Sh Gian Chand Dhawan along with Secretary Sh Prem Kumar Gupta. Also present on the occasion were Principal Dr Sandeep Puri, Dean Academcis Dr Rajoo Singh Chhina and Dr Sanjeev Uppal.

President of DMC Youth Club- Nandisha Gupta acknowledged the active participation of all participants in spreading awareness about drug menace in the country. The speakers who got the prizes include Shivam from Kamla Lohtia Sanatan Dharam College, who was declared winner followed by Harsimrat Chawla from SCD Govt. College, Ludhiana and Harnoor from Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana, who won second and third prizes respectively.

IAP UG PEDIATRIC QUIZ- College round of IAP PEDIATRIC QUIZ for undergraduate batches was also held in Dumra Auditorium. The undergraduate students of various MBBS batches participated, to showcase their knowledge and interest in the field of Pediatrics.

Dr. Puneet Aulakh Pooni (Professor& Head of Pediatrics) addressed the gathering of students and faculty members present on occasion.

Dr Deepak Bhat (Professor of Pediatrics),who conducted the quiz, said that conducting of such quiz contests enhance the knowledge of participants and audience as well. It is after undergoing many written, verbal and other tests that satisfied students are chosen to participate in the quiz competition, said Dr Deepak Bhat

Five different teams participated in the quiz competition. There were six different rounds based on different areas of childhood diseases. Shivansh Aggarwal and Kanish Aggarwal of MBBS Batch 2014 were declared winners.
