Ludhiana District all set for hosting prestigious Regional Saras Mela from October 27 onwards
Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today said that industrialists of the city can contribute to the regional Saras Mela being held at Punjab Agriculture University Grounds between October 27 and November 5. Chairing a meeting with the leading industrialists of the district here at Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner said that artisans, traders, skilled workers from across the 20 states would participate in this event. She further mentioned that proper arrangements for free of cost food, accommodation and stalls has been ensured for these participants.
Ludhiana, October 10, 2023: Deputy Commissioner Surabhi Malik today said that industrialists of the city can contribute to the regional Saras Mela being held at Punjab Agriculture University Grounds between October 27 and November 5. Chairing a meeting with the leading industrialists of the district here at Bachat Bhawan, the Deputy Commissioner said that artisans, traders, skilled workers from across the 20 states would participate in this event. She further mentioned that proper arrangements for free of cost food, accommodation and stalls has been ensured for these participants.
The DC further mentioned that a sum of Rs. Two crore is expected to be incurred on this event of which the central government has issued only Rs. 35 lakhs while remaining funds are to be arranged through fund management. Thereby, the industrialists of the city were appealed to sponsor this event who have given positive response to administration's call for sponsorship. The industrialists were informed that in lieu of their sponsorship, they will get prominent space at commercial stalls where they can advertise their brands during the entire event.
She said that this prominent event is once again being held in Ludhiana which is a matter of pride for the entire district. She said that it is for the third time when Ludhiana district is hosting this event as it is generally held at major cities of the country. Earlier, this event was held in 2012 and 2017, now it is the third time when people of Ludhiana will witness this mega event. She reiterated that the administration would leave no stone unturned to make this event a mega success in the district.
