IN LUDHIANA, FULL & FINAL DRESS REHEARSAL REGARDING STATE-LEVEL INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS HELD TODAY

Ludhiana, August 13, 2018: The state-level Independence Day celebrations would be organised at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, in which Chief Minister Punjab Capt Amarinder Singh would unfurl the national flag. The full and final dress rehearsal regarding the state-level Independence Day celebrations was held at Guru Nanak Stadium, here today. To review the preparations, Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal also chaired a meeting in this regard.

Mr Agrawal informed that more than 2000 students from different schools of the city would participate in these celebrations and would present cultural items along with those related to national integration and communal harmony. Besides this, the Chief Minister would launch the Buddy Programme and next phase of Farm Loan Waiver scheme, and along with this, the beneficiaries of schemes such as Ghar Ghar Rozgaar, Farm Loan Waiver, flats for weaker sections, Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojana etc would also be honoured by the Chief Minister. On this occasion, persons who have contributed in different fields for the welfare of society would be honoured with state awards.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the officials to celebrate this day as a national festival and all arrangements should be minutely checked. He also directed that all government officials would participate in this function along with their families.

He informed that this year, the cultural function during the Independence Day celebrations would be very impressive and the function would also include a PT show, a march past, etc. The students would not only present cultural items, but would also showcase the welfare schemes being started by the Punjab government.

The meeting was attended by Commissioner of Police Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, Deputy Commissioner of Police Mr Ashwani Kapoor, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Investigation) Mr Gagan Ajit Singh, ADC (Development) Dr Shena Aggarwal, ADC (General) Mr Iqbal Singh Sandhu, ADC Khanna Mr Ajay Sood, ADC Jagraon Mrs Neeru Katyal, ADCP Mr Surinder Lamba, besides several others.
