The dilapidated condition of Focal Point Phase VIII in Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, May 24, 2019: Today, industrialists of Focal point Phase VIII along with Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO, visited Phase VIII Focal Point Ludhiana, and saw the miserable condition of Phase VIII of Focal Point Ludhiana, which is the most recent focal point, compared to other focal points of Ludhiana.

Phase VIII focal point was set up in 1992. Presently, condition of its basic infrastructure such as roads and sewerage is miserable. The industrialists feel ashamed to bring customers to their factories through these roads. Moreover, labourers and workers are showing reluctance in joining Industries established in Focal Point, as they feel unsafe due to poor roads and infrastructure.

Focal points are generating huge revenues for the government, yet the conditions of the focal points are neglected, let apart the movement of people, the movement of goods is also carried out at the very high risk. The load carriages are often found in breakdown condition. Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO along with all the industrialists of Focal Point phase VIII, urged the CM Punjab, DC Ludhiana, Municipal Corporation Ludhiana and PSIEC to kindly look into the matter and do the needful to improve the working condition in focal points of Ludhiana.

It is also notable that Chief Minister Punjab announced the fund of Rs.32 crore for the Upgradation of Focal Points but nothing has been spent so far.
