Ludhiana MLAs, Aykai Hospital NGO GLODAS and DAV School create awareness organ donation 

Ludhiana, August 13, 2022: On the remarkable event of World Organ Donor Day, Aykai Hospital, Ludhiana in association with GLODAS ( Gift of Life organ Donation awareness society) & DAV school  under the patronage of all MLA’s took an initiative to  ignite the people  about the importance of Organ donation and motivated them for donating Organs. 

A Musical dance Choreography was presented in Wave Mall, Pavilion & Kips Market  which encouraged the folks for Organ Donation.Special guest n the occasion were Daljit Bhola Grewal MLA, Madan Lal Bagga MLA, Rajinder Pal Kaur Chinna MLA, Kulwant Singh Sidhu MLA, SPS Parmar IG, Ludhiana and Dr. Deepak Bansal.

Dr Baldev Singh Aulakh Chief Urologist & Transplant Surgeon Chairman Aykai Hospital, President GLODAS said about 4.5 lakh people die every year in India because of unavailability of organs. Of these, 50,000 each die from liver and heart diseases while around 2lakh die due to kidney diseases.1 brain dead person can save 8 lives after his death. We want to make people realize that we can donate our Organs while living also if we are above 18yrs and even after our we pass away, we have ways to contribute to the society. we will still be able to lighten someones life: just through the simple act of registering as an Organ Donor.India as a country has celebrated & respected culture of giving .To put others need in front of one’s own desire is truly admirable. But this culture of giving is not carried over in the area of Organ Donation not because of lack of intent but because of lack of awareness and concern. So, with this choreography we aim to inspire the masses to take the pledge of donating organs .The activity was performed by 50 student of DAV School along with Aykai Hospital Staffs. This event motivated the individuals and they came forward and pledged to donate organs after their death. To make this day memorable Donor card was released by Dr Aulakh.
Special guests encourage the participants and community & congratulated Aykai Hospital for always coming forward in spreading awareness amongst people about organ donation. They said it is a very good initiative and urged the community to help the ailing community & Signed the Donor Card and pledged to donate their Organs after Death The Special guests and Dr Aulakh handed over the token of appreciation to the participants & also acknowledged Waves Mall, Pavilion & Kips Market for providing time and space in Mall for doing this inspirational event.
