2690 DIFFERENTLY ABLED PEOPLE REGISTERED THEMSELVES IN 9-DAY LONG CAMP

LUDHIANA, JUNE 14, 2018: As many as 453 differently abled people today registered themselves on the last day of special 9-day long camp that started on June 4.

The camp was held in Sanmati Jain School, Sadar Market that falls under Jagraon constituency.

The camp was inaugurated by Member of Parliament (MP) Ravneet Singh Bittu inaugurated the camp.

He disclosed that as many as 2690 persons with special needs have registered in 10-day long camp and the wheelchairs, tricycles, hearing aid, speaking devices, artificial limbs and other things worth Rs 2.14 crore will be distributed among them at free of cost.

MP told that this was the unique initiative of state government to provide a healing touch to the people with special needs.

He added that these camps were organized by Social Security, Women and Child Development department with the support of district administration.

Meanwhile, MP Bittu told that experts of Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) have prepared the lists after assessing the extent the need of such people who took part in the camps and all these things will be given to them within three months.

On the ocassion, District Congress Chief Gurdev Singh Lapran, Manjeet Singh Hambran and others were present.
