Ludhiana, September 7, 2013: Industrial Interaction was held at Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) Complex, Focal Point, Ludhiana with Dr Babu Ram, Member Secretary, PPCB with Captains of Ludhiana Industry.

Inderjt Singh Pardhan, President, welcomed Dr. Babu Ram. Avtar Singh, General Secretary CICU thanked Industrial leaders and Industrialists for participating in this event. He said that new PPCB Policy is indeed hassle free and Industry friendly.

The Member Secretary said that pollution was one of the major areas of concern, which needed to be curved at any cost. They are trying to minimise pollution level in Punjab.

Interacting with the members of the CICU, Dr. Babu Ram said suggestions raised by Industry during interaction would be considered. New measures, modified procedures and revised norms would be introduced to solve all logical and technical issues. He informed that comprehensive guidelines of PPCB norms are already updated and available on website of the Board. He requested the Electroplating Industry for submission of application for CETP mentioning the availability of site which will be installed subject to availability of funds. Any problem related to National Green Tribunal will be taken up for amicable solution. Consent will be provided for non-hazardous industry in mixed land use areas. He announced that particular machinery/instrument not adhering to pollution norms will be sealed only and not the entire factory unit. The Building Plan certified by Approved Architect is permitted for designated industrial areas. Awareness program on solid waste management and rice ash disposal will be organised shortly. There will be no harassment for reduced supply of treatment water provided it is linked with production. The rain water harvesting will be promoted where it is directly connected with root top.

Avtar Singh, General Secretary CICU and CEO LETS, Upkar Singh, Joint Secretary CICU & Director LETS, Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, General Secretary LETS, Manjit Singh Khalsa, Chairman UCPMA,  T.R. Misra, Dyeing Industry, Sh. Sudarshan Gosain, Casting industry, S.C. Ralhan, Forging Industry, Lalit Jain, Textile Industry and Vinod Thapar, Garment Industry presented Memorandum related to the issues of their respective industries.

While presenting vote of thanks, Upkar Singh, Joint Secretary, CICU thanked Dr Babu Ram, Member Secretary for acceding to most of the issues raised by key Industrialists and also requested him to take pro active approach on other pending issues. This program was attended by Chairmen and Presidents of various Industrial Associations and Captains of industries namely Avtar Singh Bhogal, H.S. Pahwa, Joga Singh, Inderjit Navyug, Achru Ram Gupta, Varinder Kapoor, Pradeep Wadhawan and others.
