A delegation of All Industries and Trade Forum, under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh Kular, Convenor of the forum, submits memorandum to Manish Tiwari, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting at. Ludhiana on Monday.
Ludhiana, July 1, 2013: A delegation of All Industries and Trade Forum met Manish Tiwari, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, under the leadership of Gurmeet Singh Kular, Convenor of the forum.
The delegation discussed the problems being faced by the Industry as well as the people specially regarding Central Excise Duty, air connectivity and New Shatabdi Express from Ludhiana to New Delhi.
A memorandum was also handed over to the minister.
The Minister was urged that the 2% Central Excise Duty on complete cycle should be abolished so that the industry may flourish.
It was said that due to non-availability of air connectivity, the exporters/traders have to waste a lot of time during their journey as well as for transportation of goods. It was requested to start air cargo ways for transportation of goods and Air Jetways for people.
The delegation requested the minister to start another Shatabdi Express from Ludhiana to New Delhi in the larger interest of industry and other people.
Tiwari gave patience hearing and assured that he will discuss the matter with the concerned ministries and do the needful as soon as possible.
Among others, Baljit Singh Lotey, Joint Secretary, Achhru Ram Gupta, Finance Secretary and Jagatvir Singh, President Ludhiana Bicycle & Engineering Park were presemt.
