Ludhiana News- Ireo sets-up a free dispensary at Ireo Waterfront, Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 14, 2013: Ireo, India’s first and the largest FDI investor dedicated to the Indian real estate sector, inaugurated a free dispensary at its Ireo Waterfront project near Sidhwan Canal in Ludhiana, which will benefit the population of five villages of Devatwal, Eisewal, Dakha, Gahaur and Birmi, falling in the vicinity of the project. As part of its ongoing initiatives to develop basic health and sanitation amenities in the villages, Ireo has tied up with Ludhiana Mediways Hospital to set up the dispensary that will provide free tertiary health care services and basic medicines to patients. Ireo dispensary operation will be managed by a general physician from  the hospital who will provide free medical outdoor treatment to patients 6  days a week. Patients referred by the Ireo dispensary will be able to avail treatment at discounted rates from Ludhiana Mediways Hospital located nearby. As per the agreement Ireo has inked with the hospital, patients referred by the Ireo Dispensary requiring indoor treatment or other diagonistic services shall get discount upto 40% in their hospital bill. Ireo  dispensary will also organise health check-up, eye check-up and polio vaccination camps at regular intervals.

Commenting on the occasion, Madhukar Tulsi, President at Ireo, said, "The initiative is our way of giving back to the community. Our aim is to develop not just our projects, but also make a positive impact on the communities that have supported us over the years. We are pleased to announce the launch of Ireo dispensary at Ireo Waterfront and are committed to extend free medical aid to the neighbourhood areas. This meets a long-standing need of the area in which there are no medical facilities in the vicinity.”

The opening of the Ireo dispensary is part of the various initiatives that Ireo has been regularly undertaking to provide health and sanitation facilities to the villagers. Recently, Ireo organised 3 medical camps in the Ludhiana district, which reached out to hundreds of villagers. Ireo has also undertaken initiatives to improve basic amenities and water supply in village schools. These initiatives include installing two water coolers and overhead water tanks to ensure safe drinking water for students, repairing school kitchens and washrooms, and creating a platform for drinking water to ensure hygiene.
