Ludhiana News/Empty Inside’s premiere show in city

Ludhiana, December 16: Premiere show of the movie “Empty Inside” was organised at the local Guru Nanak Dev Bhawan. The movie gives an idea about how families are ruined with drug menace and provides the solution from the teachings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The show was sponsored by Vigaas Foundation. It was the watched among others by principles and management committees’ members of various educational institutes. All of them were impressed greatly and said the movie inspires for a good society.
The movie has been produced by KickDrugs Inc. (Australia) and Written, Edited and Directed by Satdeep Singh. He said the movie was an important and best work done by him. He added the movie had already screened in Amritsar, Delhi, Surat, Australia, USA and Canada. The movie goers had given tremendous response, he remarked.
His other feature film "Proud To Be A Sikh" is soon getting released in theatres across Punjab and Delhi after great success worldwide. He has already won many international film festivals for his short movies -  Born to Lead , Five Folds , Taaj and Blind Journey.
Satdeep Singh said Punjab proudly ranks highest in India on a variety of measures, such as agricultural production, infrastructure, and overall quality of life. However in recent years it has been topping another more tarnished list – addiction. “According to our own government, a whopping 73.5% of Punjab’s male youth are addicted to drugs. It is also one of the highest per capita consumers of alcohol in the world, unfortunately making alcoholism a huge problem for Punjab”, he said, adding medical practitioners confirmed that 70 to 80 percent of all their patients were battling drug addiction or alcoholism. Besides the sale of liquor, there was parallel trade of narcotic drugs and medicinal drugs run by our own people.
Vigaas Foundation’s Head Jaspreet Singh said the movie “Empty Inside” would also be shown in jails to create awareness amongst the jail inmates against menace of drugs.
