Ludhiana Parliamentary constituency - 1843 polling parties to be dispatched on Friday

As many as 1843 Polling parties comprising 9395 employees will be dispatched to the booths on Friday to ensure smooth, fair and peaceful conduct of the voting scheduled to be held on Saturday under seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha elections.

Ludhiana, May 30, 2024: As many as 1843 Polling parties comprising 9395 employees will be dispatched to the booths on Friday to ensure smooth, fair and peaceful conduct of the voting scheduled to be held on Saturday under seventh and last phase of the Lok Sabha elections. 

District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that instructions had been issued to all Assistant Returning Officers (AROs) to timely dispatch the polling parties from the dispatch centres to their allotted polling booths. She directed AROs to ensure all requisite arrangements for the polling parties. Besides, special nodal officers have been appointed across the districts to take care of the welfare of these election officials and their kids. 

The polling in the Ludhiana PC shall be held from 7 am to 6 pm at 1843 polling booths and will continue till the last voter (inside the polling station) casts his ballot.

In Ludhiana PC, a total of 17, 58,614 voters including 9, 37,094 male, 8, 21,386 female, 134 third genders and 66 overseas voters are eligible to cast their vote. 

For whole district, total voters are 26, 94,622 including 14, 35,624 male, 12, 58,847 female, 151 third genders and 94 overseas voters. All the polling stations will have the facility of live webcasting. The polling shall be viewed live from the integrated command control centre established in the district administrative complex. 

Dispatch and Receipt centre for polling parties
For Khanna assembly segment, the polling parties will be dispatched from AS Modern Senior Secondary School, Malerkotla Road, Khanna and EVMs will be received at the same place after the end of voting. For Samrala assembly segment, *, ITI Samrala has been selected as EVM dispatch and receiving the centre. 
For Sahnewal assembly segment, *, Khalsa Girls Senior Secondary School, College Road, Civil Lines Ludhiana is EVM dispatch and receipt centre. 
For Ludhiana East assembly segment, Satish Chander Dhawan Government College for boys, Civil Lines has been set up as EVM dispatch centre and Government Senior Secondary Smart School, PAU Campus, Ludhiana will be its receipt centre 
For Ludhiana South assembly segment, KVM Senior Secondary School, Civil Lines is EVM dispatch centre and KS Aulakh Examination Hall, PAU is receipt centre. 
For Atam Nagar assembly segment, Dr. Jasmer Singh Hall, PAU Campus will be EVM dispatch and receipt centre. 
For Ludhiana Central assembly segment, Government Collage for (Girls), Bharat Nagar Chowk will be dispatch centre and Gymnasium Hall, Ground Floor; PAU Ludhiana will be EVM receipt centre. 
For Ludhiana West assembly segment, Khalsa College for Women, Civil Lines, Ghumar Mandi will be dispatch and Gymnasium Hall, 1st Floor, PAU will be EVM receipt centre.
For Ludhiana North assembly segment, Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar will be EVM dispatch centre and Govt. Senior Secondary Smart School; PAU Campus will be EVM receipt centre. 
For Gill assembly segment, SRS Government Polytechnic College, Rishi Nagar will be EVM dispatch and receiving centre. 
For Payal assembly segment, Guru Nanak National College Doraha will be EVM dispatch and receipt centre. 
For Dakha assembly segment, Sukhdev Singh Bhawan, PAU will be EVM dispatch and receipt centre. 
For Raikot assembly segment, Swami Ganga Giri Senior Secondary School, Gondwal will be EVM dispatch and receipt centre. Similarly for Jagraon assembly segment, LR DAV College Jagraon will be EVM dispatch and receipt centre
